How it Works

Follow these steps to sign up as a free agent!

Step 1: Choose a Sport

Checkout the sports that we offer and DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT TO PLAY!

Make sure it's a league that is played this time of year. Some sports leagues are not offered during the winter season.

Step 2: Choose a Division

Decide if you want to play mixed or single gender, and determine your level of play.

Please note that some sports do not offer single gender leagues. You can see gender on each sport page, as well as a description of the different levels of play for each sport.

Step 3: Register

Click "Filter By Sport"  below and choose the league that you are interested in joining. 

Use the "Register as a Free Agent" button to sign up. During the checkout process, you'll be prompted to indicate the division, format, and level you'd like to play and pay a league fee. The fee is fully refundable if we cannot find you a team for the season.

PRO TIP #1: List as many nights as you are available to play when you are registering. Some nights/days are harder to start free agent teams. If we know that you can play on other nights, we will have more opportunities to get you on a team!

PRO TIP #2: If you have a friend or two that you'd like to play with, please note that on the registration form. We will do our best to pair you with your friends!

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATIONS FOR SAND VOLLEYBALL ARE OPEN FOR THE SPRING SEASON!
BASIC LEAGUE INFO:
  • Days that leagues are offered: Sundays and Tuesdays
  • Season: 7 games plus playoffs. Typically 8-10 weeks.
  • Start Times: Tuesdays 6:30-9:30pm, Sundays 4:00-7:00pm

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATIONS FOR MEN'S & COED FLAG FOOTBALL ARE OPEN FOR THE SPRING SEASON!
BASIC LEAGUE INFO:
  • Days that leagues are offered: Tuesdays (Men's) and Wednesdays (Coed)
  • Season: 7 games plus playoffs. Typically 8-10 weeks.
  • Start Times:  6:30-9:30pm
  • Location: Dependent on night of the week 
  • Cost: $75 - includes league fee, 90 day SportsLink Players Card, and team t-shirt. 
  • Format: 7v7 (The max we will take is 13 players per coed team and 12 players per men's team.)
Coed Flag Football Team

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATIONS FOR KICKBALL ARE OPEN FOR THE SPRING SEASON!
BASIC LEAGUE INFO:
  • Days that leagues are offered: Monday-Thursdays
  • Season: 7 games plus playoffs. Typically 8-10 weeks.
  • Start Times: Monday-Thursday 6:30-9:30pm
  • Location: Dependent on night of the week, Mainly Revolution Park for all seasons
  • Cost: $75 - includes league fee, 90 day SportsLink Players Card, and team t-shirt. 
  • Format: 10v10 COED (The max will will take is 16 players per team.)
Coed Kickball Team

BASIC LEAGUE INFO:
  • Days that leagues are offered: Sundays-Thursdays
  • Season: 7 games plus playoffs. Typically 8-10 weeks.
  • Start Times: Monday-Thursday 6:30-9:30pm, Sunday 5:00-8:00pm
  • Location: Dependent on night of the week (typically MLK Park or Freedom Park)
  • Cost: $75 - includes league fee, 90 day SportsLink Players Card, and team t-shirt. 
  • Format: 2v2 MIXED GENDER
  • Divisions: 
    • Recreational - players have minimal experience and play for fun
    • Intermediate - players have experience, play for fun and to win
Coed Pickleball Team

What is a Free Agent?
A Free Agent is someone who doesn’t have enough teammates to form an entire team and would like to be placed on a house team (team of individuals created by SportsLink).
What is a House Team?

A House Team is a team created by SportsLink and comprised of individuals that signed up as free agents. 

Joining a house team is a great way for individuals that are new to town to meet new people. It is also a great way to play in one of our leagues when you do not have enough players to fill an entire roster.

How do I become a Free Agent?
  1. Choose sport you are wanting to register for, listed below.
  2. Click More Details to learn more about signing up as a free agent for that sport/league.
  3. When you are ready to sign up, click Register as a Free Agent. From here, you will be able to make your payment and fill out the designated form for your specific sport to be placed on a House team.
    • The designated form will prompt you to fill in which nights of the week you prefer to play; if you want to play Men’s, Women’s or Coed (based on what is offered for each sport); your t-shirt size; and general contact information. 
  4. After filling out the designated form and making your payment, SportsLink will add you to the list of free agents and contact you when we are able to form a full team.
    • If a team is not able to be formed within 2 seasons of your payment, you will be contacted about being issued a refund or staying listed as paid until we are able to form a team.
I signed up as a Free Agent, now what?

Our staff puts together house teams based on free agent sign ups. We will work on forming these teams as a new season approaches.

After signing up as a free agent, you can expect to be contacted by one of our staff within 2 weeks to confirm your placement on a house team.

Upon creating a house team, we will ask one player to step up as the Team Captain. Team Captains make sure that your team will have enough players each week and will help find subs if you don’t have enough people.

Does it cost to be a Free Agent?

Free agents can sign up to play in one of our leagues for $75. 

The $75 will cover the league fee and give the free agent a 90 day player's card, which is required by all players in our leagues. Each free agent will also receive a team shirt and equipment for the season.

If the player already has an annual player's card, we will add 90 days to the expiration of that card.

Do I need a Player's Card to be a Free Agent?

The $75 fee will provide each free agent with a 90 day player's card, which is required by all players in our leagues.

What else do I need to know?

Communication with your teammates is key. Once placed on a team, be sure to let your teammates know if you cannot make a game in case they need to find a sub or we need to help with subs. Players can communicate through their DaySmart accounts with other teammates, but we highly recommend exchanging phone numbers and creating a group text message between teammates.

Team shirts are provided for SportsLink players that are placed on a House team.
